Woody got his surgical drain removed this afternoon...so one step closer to healing. As Woody said, now that place can start to heal. Woody got up early, went to work, worked, left work a bit early for his doctor appointment, and came home to rest and relax. Woody said that getting the drain out wasn't too bad...just hurt a little bit. He's glad to be rid of the tubing. I'm glad not to have to empty the drain retention bulb and measure what was in it! One less nursing job for me. Since the doctor just put the new dressing on this afternoon, I won't have that nursing job to do tonight...an evening free of nursing duties! I started this blog in 2009 to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 16 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. 6/16/24 Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.
