I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Late Dining Due to Gallivanting
We didn't exactly dine on these dishes as these are presidential dishes. This is one place setting on a dining table at President Polk's home. The dishes were designed by Mrs. Polk for the White House. They have a different Tennessee wild flower on each place setting. The doings of the day included Woody walking to and from the library. He went to retrieve two books that he had requested from the Manchester library (part of our county library system). Cheryl and I spent a good part of the afternoon and even a little into the evening shopping...picking up things that we both "needed." As soon as we got home we got busy and got our dinner on the table. We have the dish washer going and the other dishes washed. We have a new challenge in our household...to wash the dishes on the opposite side of the sink than we have for all the years we have lived here (31 years). We never had a stopper for the side of the sink that has the garbage disposal...today we managed to find a stopper for that side...and it worked for the first sinkful of dishes. We will see if Woody and I can adjust! Change gets harder as we get older...or so we seem to be learning!
