It has been a beautiful day...bright and sunny...a rarity these days. I opened up the curtain in our tower room and this is what I saw during the day and then just as the sun was setting over Nashville. Both pretty views. Woody's room is in the round tower across from the main medical center. The sixth floor houses the orthopedics surgical patients. So we are looking through the trees for our view.
Woody has really done pretty well today. He has been up and had some PT which he was pretty familiar with since he had this before. At the time the PT folk were here, the order was non-weight bearing on that leg. But later in the day the day the orders changed to weight bearing as tolerated. At least he won't have to hop holding onto the walker. He can at least use that leg for balance. His pain is being managed fairly well. As the day progressed, his main problem was unexpected spasms in that leg...not a pleasant experience!
It has been a fairly quiet day. Woody's nurse brought him USA Today newspaper. He worked the crossword puzzle and read the paper and did a couple of the other puzzles.n I'm working on a sudoku puzzle. I read, did a little cross stitch, texted news of Woody to friends, and dozed off and on. Woody has done a little dozing, too. Last night was a pretty typical hospital night...LONG! We dozed
off and on, but inevitably, when we dozed off, someone came in to check on something.
They have disconnected his saline part of the IV. Now pretty much the only thing the IV is being used for is his antibiotics. He is getting the same antibiotic that he got when he was in here with cellulitis back in November. Hopefully the cellulitis can disappear as he heals from this surgery.
If all goes as planned at the moment. Nathan will come to Nashville tomorrow after church to gather us up and take us back home.
