I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Quick Blog Tonight…Surgery Over & Back Home!
Surgery went well. The doctor chose not to do a skin graft. He was concerned where the place was located...so near the elbow...lots of movement. I think that Woody might have had his arm in a splint if doctor had done a graft. Surgeon was able to use a flap of skin from his arm and pull it over the place...he said that it was a tight pull. The lymph node was the size of two golf balls! The tumor is gone...yay! He has come home with a drain from the place where the lymph node was removed...under his arm. So I now have drain-emptying duty three times a day...can you see me roll my eyes?!? This, too, will pass!!! He is sore, but quite alert. He did doze a bit on the way home. We are having bad storms...lots of rain. Melany is going to spend the night and head to school from here in the morning. Short and sweet tonight, but at least you know surgery is over, Woody is once again in his recliner, and we are very glad to all be home safely. As Woody would say, "To God be the glory!"
