It has been a long day for Woody, but the outcome at this point is a good one. They finally took him for his procedure at 12:45pm and he got back a little after 3pm. They were successful in getting his graft unblocked! In less than 30 minutes of getting back from the procedure, his dialysis treatment was up and going. He has less than 30 minutes to go. He has been pretty quiet today...not feeling the greatest. He did have to have another unit of blood this morning. He was just a little below the demarcation line of needing more blood. They are watching carefully as to reason that his blood keeps going down. At this point there is no outward evidence of blood loss. It may just his body adjusting to the blood he has been given. I told Woody that maybe all the nooks and crannies hadn't been filled up yet after his extreme blood loss! All I know is that he is being carefully watched. Just a few minutes ago they took another blood sample to be tested. I just checked and that last test has alredy been read and it is at a level that it hasn't been for some time...now we will see if it stays! Woody still hasn't had anything to eat or drink today. His supper is sitting here next to me just waiting for him to get off. The dialysis nurse is getting ready to take him off. So success in opening the graft and in giving him a treatment with it!
