I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Signs of Thanksgiving!
Why does time fly so fast when you have lots to do?!? I think that today needed hours added to it! I spent a good part of the day working on Wade and Erin's Christmas stockings. I wish that I could say that I have at least one finished, but that is not the case. I am very close to finishing Erin's...but Wade's still has a ways to go. Just a few minutes ago I added the stack of pie crust dough discs to the refrigerator...part of tonight's photos. Getting the pie crusts to this point is all the Thanksgiving cooking that I had to do today...not so for tomorrow! But still I have lots less to do since Melany, Wade, Nathan, and Kathy are bringing most of the sides. I made pie crusts for four pies, though I may only make three. I can freeze the fourth pie dough disc if I stick with what I planned. It was just easier to make an even number of crusts, as I double the single crust recipe. This way if I decide to make the second pumpkin pie I won't have to make the crust tomorrow. I will make the pumpkin and pecan pies tomorrow and chop ingredients, etc. for things that I will put together Thanksgiving morning. I'm not used to sewing for long periods of time these days so the sewing has been tiring. I do plan to get Erin's stocking finished tonight...and...maybe...get the bias strips cut and the piping made for Wade's. That way all I would have to do tomorrow was sew the piping on the front of the stocking and then sew the stocking pieces together tomorrow. I used to burn a lot of midnight oil when sewing...these days my oomph needed to continue to sew seems to not last as long as it used to last! But it has been a good day...at least to this point! To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
