I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Bird Watching
We have quite a few bird nests within sight around our house...there two nests that can be viewed "if" you are tall enough! Nathan helped some that aren't quite tall enough to be able to see into the nests. Today Elijah found a way to be able to see in really well on one of the nests and he took one of my point and shoot cameras up with him and got the picture of the nest with the tiniest birds. These are both robin nests...and we had some concerned parents for a bit today but once we moved away they were right back at the nests. I can see the nest with the tiniest babies out our kitchen window and a while ago the mommy or daddy was all nestled in on top of her/his little ones. After checking out the nests close and personal then we looked in some of our bird books to find out more about the birds. Elijah found a piece of the egg under the bush so we took a picture of it on the page in the bird book that told about robins. Spring is such a fun discovery time for children...and their parents and grandparents! We commented on how much these little birds would grow...that they would soon be as big as the ones in the other nest and that soon there would hardly be room for the three of them in the nest. It won't be long for the biggest ones to be out of their nest and on their own. We had school today...but after Elijah read inside we went outside to bird watch. Then the girls and I read on the front porch for our reading time. It has been a really beautiful day...got to the mid 80's today. After lunch, Woody and I got in the car and headed off to our personal care physician in McMinnville. Woody's allergies had turned into a sore throat and he decided that he perhaps should have it checked out as he had been exposed to strep. The doctor decided to treat it as if it is strep...so he will be taking a round of antibiotics. Once we got home, it was time for me to start our supper. We had spaghetti and meat sauce tonight. We hadn't had that in a while and it tasted pretty good...though made me feel quite hot...first time this year that food had made me feel hot...an indication that it isn't soup weather any more! After supper, Woody walked to the prayer room and has just returned. I went upstairs and finished the book that I was reading. Now I'll head back downstairs and finish loading the dishwasher and get it started and also put a load of clothes into the drier. That should just about expend all the energy that I have left in me for this day!
