I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Day After Surgery
Woody had a bit of a rough night, but has now settled in to his recovery...we hope! The physical therapy team who saw him this morning couldn't believe how well he was doing. He had already been up. They said that they had to pry most patients out of bed for the first time. He saw Dr. Holt's Fellow this morning. He said that he would be staying the weekend and then it would be decided if he goes home on Monday or Tuesday. So we are settling in for the "long run!" Woody's nurse arranged for me to get a guest tray whenever Woody gets one...so I am being well fed...so far the food hasn't been all that bad considering it is hospital food! He has quite a bit of swelling in his foot so when he is in bed he has it raised on pillows. His nurse did a doplar test on it and she can hear the pulse loud and clear. He doesn't seem to be in all that much pain so that seems to be being handled. He gets out of bed fairly easily. I'm hoping that we both have a better night's sleep tonight. Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. God is good...all the time!
