I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

New Month/Week…Different Appointments
Welcome, November! And, the start of a new month equals new appointments. Today was the dermatalogist in Murfreesboro for Woody for his three month check-in. She did freeze off a precancer squamous cell place on his face and scraped off a wart that had been bothering him for a while. She also decided that the bandages that we have been applying to his melanoma tumor on his arm are irritating his arm and making it itch...probably the adhesive. He is allergic to many adhesives. So she put some gauze over it and wrapped it with a coban stretchy bandage. We'll have to talk to his Vanderbilt nurse as to what to do for those five days after he has the injection when it has to have an occlusive dressing on it. For now this is fine. His appointment was late morning and we didn't get home till almost 1pm so that appointment and travel time cut into our day...not a lot accomplished before or after the appointment for either of us. He is at Monday Night Furnace Room Prayer meeting at the moment. I have his treatment set up for tonight. He will come home and have his protein shake and then wait a while after he eats to get him connected. I still don't feel great. I am through with the prednisone...still have quite few days left on antibiotics. Hope by the end of those I will be feeling much better! One can at least hope! Woody is home so I'm off to make his nightly shake. Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
