I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Dogwood-Winter Birthday
Melany's birthday usually is a time for tulips and blooming dogwood trees The tulips have started blooming and the dogwoods are opening up and starting to show out along the highways and byways. And, in our front yard. Tonight's dogwood photos were taken from our front porch today. One of our TN winters is called Dogwood Winter since it is a cold snap when the dogwoods are blooming. I actually heard a weatherman refer to this cold snap as "Dogwood Winter." And, it has turned
chilly. A few snowflakes were spotted coming through the air today. We are under a frost advisory for overnight. All I can say is "brrrrrrrrrrrrr!" I talked to Melany a little while ago. It sounds like she has had a pretty good birthday despite spiending a good portion of it with lots of children. A couple of the children in her art class found out it was her birthday and brought her cards. This is one of my favorite birthday pictures of Melany. She is 2 and we were living in Sunnyvale, CA at the time. The little outfit Melany is modeling was made by Linda here in TN and sent to Melany to celebrate her birthday. You can tell that Melany really loved it. I can see it in living color despite the black and white photo...it is a beautiful lavender. Hmmmmmm...this picture was taken 50 years ago...amazing how time flies! Happy Birthday, Melany! We have had a quiet day...we are always glad for quiet days. We've both done what we usually do. I have attempted to do a little straightening up and putting some things away. My stitching corner needed a little work before I could vacuum...the vacuuming effort will be done later or tomorrow! Well, it is time to set up Woody's dialysis. Be safe. Be well! Be cautious!
