Early this morning, we had a visit from a doctor telling us that Woody's surgery wouldn't be as early as once thought. They had had several trauma surgeries to do before Woody's and they didn't know the length of these. So we realized that we were going to be waiting. Truthfully I was just as glad that it was put off some, as Woody was given morphine during his test yesterday and he is very confused due to that. Melany came back to be here for the surgery...guess that wasn't meant to be, as early afternoon, we got another update...surgery has been put off until tomorrow. Vandy time is very interesting! Woody has rested a lot this afternoon, we're hoping that rest will reset his mind!! This has happened to him before with strong pain meds. He does realize that he is confused. I do think that he is a little better, but still not totally right! Dialysis was different for him and he was starting to have the reaction to the morphine. I was told this morning that morphine is rough on kidney/dialysis patients, but for this particular test it is needed. I still don't have the tape and gauze off his arm from dialysis...they put a ton on and it is very sticky and Woody doesn't want to stay still long enough to let me carefully peel it off. He wasn't super pleased with his dialysis experience. When next he goes it will be after surgery...he may not be all that excited then eiher! They have said that he can have a liquid diet...so far not interested in any colors of Jello they brought! He can "eat" liquids until midnight. We haven't been given a time for surgery tomorrow...just morning...but then we are at Vanderbilt and on Vanderbilt time! Melany has gone home. She left before the Titans game was over so she would avoid that traffic nightmare! To be continued!!! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
