I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Thursday This and Thats
We headed off to dialysis dark and early...these days we start off in the almost dark...the sky is just showing hints that the sun will rise soon...and before we get to the dialysis center we are seeing pretty colors in the sky as we head pretty much east on several stretches of the road. If there is a pretty sunrise, it is usually at its prettiest on my way home. Soon we will probably be making the whole trip to dialysis in the dark. Woody said that all went well with his dialysis this morning, but he was really drained after and it took quite a while for him to feel a little better...even his after-dialysis snack didn't seem to perk him up today. So this has been just a so-so day for him. I did things around the house while he was at dialysis...more wash and dried bread cubes to make croutons for salads...didn't get around to making the bread cubes into flavored croutons...just bagged them up to finish that job another day. Same with banana bread...didn't get around to making it, but wanted to take the banana peels out to the compost so have the bananas mashed and ready for me to make the bread...guess that had better happen tomorrow. Tomorrow is going to be different for us...we have been having free Fridays...but tomorrow we will make up for not going anywhere for the last couple of weeks. He goes to wound care late tomorrow morning. Hopefully we will get home in time for him to have a bite for lunch and then head off to TN Oncology for labs, see the doctor, and have his Keytruda infusion...a two hour process. He will be happy when he gets home and can stay home for the rest of the afternoon and evening! Part of my morning and afternoon and now this evening, I have been working on Sunday's Sunday School lesson for my class. Woody is settling on his couch/bed for the night. He did say that he slept a bit more last night than he has been. Hopefully that is the trend! To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
