Good News!

Nathan got in touch with me after lunch and asked when I wanted to head to the church to get the computer out of the box and up and running.  I hustled after I got his message and headed to the church.  It's amazing about how simple computers have become!  Two pieces…maybe three in the box…pop them together and you have a screen on a stand and thus a desk top computer.  I was glad that we waited to have Nathan's assistance!  I really don't think that Donna and I needed to attempt it no matter how simple it was.  We answered questions that the computer asked and soon it was up and running and ready for a tiny thumb drive to be put in…and low and behold…all the library information that we have put in over the years was into the new computer in a matter of moments.  We traced a patron…me…and found out the books that I had checked out.  I knew that three of them I had brought back during the time we couldn't check them in on the computer…when the old computer died.  I got the books off the shelf and we plugged in their accession numbers and checked them back in. Yes, we are back in business in the library at First Baptist Church, Tullahoma! Now to get all the books that have been checked in during this time…checked in in the computer and bring it up to date.  We will have to buy a new printer before we are really back in business, but this is a huge step.  So thankful for Nathan's and Graham's computer expertise!

I guess that I was in librarian mode today…the librarian in me is probably the reason that I am always trying to get something organized and filed away.  Today I attacked a job that I had put off for a while…the top of one of the desks in the family room.  It had become a paper gathering place…from wills, powers of attorney, etc. Along with lots of papers that have gathered since Woodyndied that had to do with finances.  Today was shredding day…and that pile of papers that were no longer timely, are no longer.  And, the desk top now has dictionaries, Bible helps, and Bibles between book ends.  I have "been meaning to" do that job for ages.

I also made chicken noodle soup today…and for some reason it just doesn't taste right…can't decide what I did differently…it's "ok" but I’ve done something differently!  Oh, well…

I haven't gotten to talk to Cheryl, yet to get details of what may be a change of plans.  It looks my great niece may be joining us, too.  When Julianna found out that both her mother and grandmother were coming to Tennessee, she said that she wasn't interested in coming…since all we had in our plans to do was sit on the front porch and drink tea or coffee!  Sounds like from a text I got a little while ago from Cheryl that she has changed her mind and might like to try out porch sitting, too.  Julianna is a freshman in college.  So if this all works out there will be three generations enjoying the porch!

I have been to church twice today…once to watch the computer get up and going.  And, then for Bible study tonight.  I’ve had a pretty busy day…ready to go empty the dishwasher and refill it and then sit down and stitch.  I am closing in on a finish on a sampler.  I’m doing this sampler in memory of Woody…a cardinal sampler (bird not baseball team!).

To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
