I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

A Very Windy Day
I am hesitant to comment on the times when Woody has a good day, as so often the next day ends up not so great! He was fine before going to dialysis this morning, but at the beginning of dialysis his blood pressure was a bit high, and by the end it was too low. The nurse said that he almost passed out. She did give him a bolus of saline and he finally got dismissed from the dialysis room...he stayed in almost an hour beyond what he usually does. He said, when he came out, that all he wanted to do was get home and lie down and get something to eat. And, that is what we did. He feels some better, but he hasn't done much but rest this afternoon...first in his recliner and then transferred over to the couch so he could really lie down. I still think that they are pulling too much fluid from him during his treatment. They aren't taking into consideration that he is eating more and should be gaining weight. They are tuned in to weight gain meaning water retention. I did talk with his nurse today and told her that he is eating much more than he had been and she said they would look into changing his dry weight, the number they use ti decide how much fluid to pull off each treatment. He did have a different nurse today and maybe she did some things differently. I am still plugging alomg with undecorating. Working on the big tree now. Have taken a lot of decorations off...but you can hardly tell! My back knows that I have made many trips around the tree today! To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
