I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Checking In…
Another interesting day. We started the day with rain and passing through storms. When we left for dialysis it was raining, but not really hard. About the time we got to the car there was a flash of light. Woody didn't think it was lightning, but soon after we saw it there waa thunder. I don't think that the storm made Woody move any faster. He did get in and we headed to dialysis. We got there on time, but he struggled getting out of the car. One of his nurses came out and helped get him out of the car and wheeled him in. So this nurse did come out and helped us. The nurse last week was one of the new nurses...so probably more strictly adhered to the rules? Plus they need him to get in and not mess up their schedule! He is still very weak. I'm hoping that we can get to his appointments tomorrow...wound care and TN Oncology. The wound care is a orthopedist so we can ask her about his knee. And, TN Oncology will be doing labs and will find out if his hemoglobin is low enough to need a transfusion. Seems strange to wish that he needs one, but if he does that would explain why he is so weak. Time will tell. Abigail and Joy came over to try on their dresses...Abigail to check if the hem I have basted in is right...we decided that it was good...so time to commit...gulp! I figured out how much to shorten Joy's dress...so basting is next. The wedding is getting closer! Back to Woody's adventures of moving from place. He really struggled getting into the car to go home from dialysis. He got himself into a position getting in that we couldn't manage to get him onto the car seat...so...Nathan and Graham to the rescue...again. They came home with us and helped him get inside. Now hoping that we can get him to and from tomorrow's appointments. Next adventure is getting him to the couch. Here's hoping that he gets a good night's sleep and gains strength in the night!!!!! To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
