I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for 15 1/2 years…sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. June 16th Woody took his final breath in his long health battle. I have blogged for so long that it is part of my daily routine…so I guess I will continue with posts from me about how I cope with this new stage in my life…widowhood.

Goal Met!
My gift stitching is done...the stitching part that is. I took it to choose a frame today so that is on order. I came home with the mounting board...I will do the stretching to prepare it for the frame for when it is finished...the frame should be here before the wedding. I am gifting it Sunday with the promise of the frame to come. This afternoon, I actually sat down and stitched on one of my other pieces that has no deadline. But that stitching didn't last long as I fell asleep. Our day didn't get off to the best start. Well, we did pretty well at the first...he was able to get ready to head out the door on time and he managed to get into the car without "too much trouble." Where the main trouble started was getting him out of the car. We were at the center a little ahead of his time and it took us so long to get him out of the car that he was late...only got in there five minutes before he was supposed to be up and running and they build 20 minutes into the time for the preliminaries. We finally managed. I just know that I am usually pulling into our driveway around 6:30am and today it was 6:45. I know that he threw their schedule off, but I guess they managed. I keep thinking that starting Tuesday we are supposed to get there by 5:50...a whole half hour earlier than our current scheduled time. I think we can! I think we can! I think we can? I guess time will tell. One more dialysis treatment on our present schedule. I think that his knee is a little better, but it is still causing him extra problems in getting anywhere. He still isn't back to using the walker. He attempted a little while ago, but gave it up pretty quickly...which I think is for the best...let the knee rest and recoup! So I would say that today has been a "so-so" day...though there were good and not so good parts to it! When I ran the errand to pick out the frame, I also stopped and got thread to use to hem the two bridesmaids' dresses. I don't think that I told the latest about the bridesmaids' dresses. I walked by and noticed that there seemed to be something wonky about the way Esther's dress was hanging at the hem...so I checked it out and someone didn't do their part correctly in the assembling of this dress. It is still hanging on the door, but Kathy did order another which should be here in plenty of time for me to get it hemmed before the wedding. The way the inside hem hangs on the current dress (which is the 2nd dress ordered for Esther), it would almost be impossible to hem so it will look good. The first reorder for Esther's dress was because she needed a smaller size. Here's hoping that the third dress is the charm and that it fits as well as being made correctly. I have Joy's dress to compare it to and hers was done correctly and I will be able to shorten it. Woody has settled down for the night...which means that we successfully got him transferred to the couch from the recliner. He has had supper and is now watching TV...unless he has already fallen asleep. I will join him to watch Elsbeth a little later...prior to that I will get the kitchen straightened up and the dishwasher running. It's been a long day! I am glad that Woody doesn't have to go any where tomorrow...another day to let his knee get better. To be continued! Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
