100 Feet of Grandeur...GONE,

Here is the before picture of the tree at the head of our driveway.  It was taken several years ago just after Woody had mulched.  I don't have many pictures of this side of our house.  But you can see the split trunk tree at the head of the driveway.  The one on your right is the one that fell toward the neighbor's and reached all the way to their front porch.  I asked today how tall they thought it was and I was told that it had to be 100 feet or more as their cherry picker goes up 75 feet and that didn't reach the top of the tree.  It was quite the operation that was managed with remarkable finesse! They definitely have it down to a science as they had to work in an extremely small area to get it down and not take other trees down or...hit our house!

And, then it was gone!

All but this stump...that measures 66" across at the widest point!  And, that was only the tree that was cut down.  It's twin filled up the hole next to this stump.  See the little green sprig coming up in the hole nest to the stump?  I thought that it was a fallen branch...but, no!  It is a little oak already growing to replace this 100 footer!
And, that is the end of our latest tree saga!
