I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for almost 15 years...sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. My husband was in remission with his Melanoma but new melanoma diagnosis 3/2021 so started back on Keytruda. 8/2020 began home Peritoneal Dialysis. 7/2022 began training for home hemodialysis…never a dull moment! Come join us in our daily routine...sometimes humdrum...sometimes sit on the edge of your seat!

One Appointment Leads to More
Today's appointment pretty much was what I expected...lots of paperwork to fill out, talk a little to the PA, be sent for labs, and have more appointments set up. The appointments aren't until October and November...a little breather! She is wanting to check out the spot/nodule or whatever showed up on his thyroid in his PET scan and ultrasound of his thyroid. She wants Vanderbilt to send her the results of his PET scan that is scheduled in three weeks. And, she wants him to have a biopsy of his thyroid. They set an appointment with an ENT doctor to set up the biopsy. One thing leads to many others! We came away with three more appointments...one in October and two in November. Two days in a row now our mornings have been taken up with doctor appointments that aren't in town. We were both happy to land in our recliners once home. Once again the transport wheelchair came in so handy. Today we didn't have valet parking so I lifted the chair in and out both here and there...not really heavy...just a little awkward...perhaps I will learn a trick or two about getting it in and out. The handles fold down making it fit in the trunk easily. It is very easy to push and maneuver. I know that I was tired when we got home and I rested and did a little napping. I think that Woody did too. Tonight was Joseph's first Fall Ball game...his first year to play. He's our 2nd grade grandson...our youngest. Woody didn't feel up to going, but I got a report on the game a little while ago. Joseph made two hits and scored two runs! Way to go, Joseph! I have Woody's dialysis treatment set up so will go down in a little while and get tonight's treatment going. Last night's treatment was a "red-letter" one...no alarms...that rarely happens. And, he was able to sleep a little more than most nights. Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
