I started this blog to keep folk up to date on my husband's melanoma treatments. I have kept up daily blogs for almost 15 years...sometimes health related...sometimes just daily routine. My husband was in remission with his Melanoma but new melanoma diagnosis 3/2021 so started back on Keytruda. 8/2020 began home Peritoneal Dialysis. 7/2022 began training for home hemodialysis…never a dull moment! Come join us in our daily routine...sometimes humdrum...sometimes sit on the edge of your seat!

LIVE AND LEARN! Last night was an interesting experience that I hope we don't repeat too often! It was a long night. The whole dialysis treatment was s l o w! The way it was going was like our first night when the cassette malfunctioned. Woodsy didn't want to give up on it since it was working...sort of! So we waited it out. I kept straightening out tubing...anything to make "things" go faster. When we decided to end the treatment we found the tiniest kink up high on the tubing...it had twisted right under a blue connector close to the top of the line...where it kinked wasn't very noticeable...so it went unnoticed for a l o n g time! We did a few STAT drains after we discovered it and got the rest of the solution out! We will look closer from now on. I think that we might have found it sooner if we hadn't had that one malfunction and this acted jut like it. Oh, well...live and learn! Woody's treatment has begun for tonight. Hoping and praying that it will go MUCH better tonight. We will definitely be watching for small kinks in the tubing!!!
