Our Little Pumpkin Pickers, part 1

One day last week our doorbell rang and when I got there the larger pumpkin was sitting on our door mat. I went out front and called, "Oh, little pumpkin picker come back!" And, Isaac showed his little face around the corner of the house. When they went out to check the pumpkins on the vine that was growing from our compost pile, this one had severed itself from the vine. I told Isaac that they could have the pumpkins and he happily ran off with the larger one. Later the above photo showed up on his mom's Facebook page...both Isaac and Joseph with a pumpkin! This year our volunteer vine grew two quite pretty pumpkins. It seems that each year our compost pile produces some very large pumpkin vines grown from seeds that have been thrown away with the compost. Some years we get more than other years. Isaac and Joseph were very happy to each get s pumpkin this year. Last night was a pretty good night for Woody's dialysis treatment. Nothing too major to speak of. The main problem is Woody negotiating over all the wires and tubes if he has to make a trip to the bathroom...last night's trip was a bit of a tangle and I didn't wake up to help him, but he managed and nothing got unplugged or pulled out! The cords are a problem but there is nothing we can do about them as the machine has to be pulled over to either the recliner or the couch and the furniture is in the middle of the room...so when the machine is pulled out the wires run out from the back to the wall...not real convenient! And, the tubing...well there is lots of length of tubing connecting Woody to the machine and then a long length of drain tubing from the machine to the bathroom. And, Woody's walker has two little "ski feet" that love to move cords and wires right along with them and get tangled with them. We tried to remedy the situation a little with some guides that the nurse gave us yesterday...but the way our machine is situated in the room they aren't a lot of help keeping the tubing out of the way...he has to negotiate over them coming and going from the bathroom.
