Routine...Sort Of...

We are slowly returning to more of a normal routine.  Woody headed out this morning to do our weekly grocery shopping.  I stayed home and out away groceries when he returned and also did some cooking.  I made Woody a pot of soup and also made his salad dressing.  Nathan came over and set up devices that we had received for Christmas.  Woody and I can now communicate with each other when one is upstairs and one downstairs.  And, Woody can tell the time and also the temperature both inside and outside...all while sitting in his recliner.  Woody headed back out after he rested from his first outing and picked up his friend ran errands with him. Due to my cooking efforts I had quite a bit of clean up.  That is done and the kitchen is shut down for the evening!  Woody is reading and/or crossword puzzle solving or TV watching.  I have come upstairs to blog and then read and rest.

Tonight's photo shows Esther finding the pickle ornament.  She got to open the pickle present which was a huge set of dominoes, the kind for making patterns that will all fall down one after the other if placed correctly!  There are chutes and tunnels and other fun things to include in the challenge.  Melany challenged them to make a run that would go down their stairs...but no one chose to do that.  Star Wars Monolopy won out for the older kids entertainment after our Christmas lunch.  They retired up to the bonus room and we hardly saw (or heard) them the rest of the afternoon.  A game of Scrabble was played as well as a card game of Wheel of Fortune by some of the adults.  Woody and I mainly sat on the couch and either watched a Christmas movie on TV or talked with folk not involved in the games.  We had a very good day...but...it is pretty good to be getting back into routine after all the Christmas festivities!
