Smooth and Simple

Today when I checked with Donna to see how their Covid vaccines had gone, she said "smooth and simple.". That is exactly how ours went, too. So I stole her words for tonight's blog title! We got over to the fair grounds a little early and got into the line (#1,#2). We moved forward and at different points people would give us papers...info about the vaccine (Moderna), a paper to fill out with name, address, etc. and a few questions to answer. We were told to have our arm ready to get the shot when we got under the tent. The shot was given in the tent...drive through at its finest!?! (#3). The nurse came to my window first and gave it to me...I literally felt nothing and then she went to Woody's window and gave him his shot. Then another lady came to the window on Woody's side and gave us our vaccination cards and told us that our appointment for the next was on those cards. We drove out of the tent and got in line to wait to see if we had any reactions.(#4) Someone from the National Guard came to the car window and told us that we were to wait in that line until told we could leave. He put a Post-It note on the windshield with the time on it. And, he told us if we had any reaction to honk the horn!!!!! We kept moving up in the line as cars left and finally it was our turn and we were on our way home. The whole vaccination process probably took 30 minutes. So far we have had no reaction. We both feel that our arms are a little sore, but not bad. It's about a 20 minute trip from Tullahoma to Manchester...so 40 minutes of travel...took more time to get there and back than it did to get the vaccines. I put numbers on the photos as I never know the order that they will publish in! We are just glad that we have both gotten our first vaccine and will be even happier when we have gotten the second...a little over a month away. Be safe! Be well! Be cautious!
